Well, having adjusted to the lovely Diamante machine, Stenograph have now gone ahead and brought out the new luminex - the most innovative writer yet. So I've managed to upgrade and am waiting this week for the new machine. Watch this space. It should be just as accurate, just as quiet, the same "touch", and just lighter to carry! All in a handbag with the Mac.

Unveiling the new machine..............!

Well, a decade has been passed since I bought a new steno machine so I’ve come to accept that it’s that time again to invest (and take a deep breath at the £4k outlay at the same time). A “friend” let me know about Stenograph.com’s latest Art Deco-styled Diamante and once I saw it, I just had to buy one. Oh the deliberations between the flashy see-through red machine and the solid black. At least one sleepless night passed. The black won out. It has all the bells-and-whistles on so it is very future-proofed, I’m told. Well, it will be if I can get the Bluetooth kit (wireless) to work. So I’m eagerly waiting in anticipation for delivery at the end of this month. But it may have to stay in its box for a few weeks – might not be a good idea to unwrap it and start playing with it before my sister’s wedding in early May where I have Maid of Honour duties…
Meanwhile, I have also purchased a lightweight laptop (yes, my present work suitcase is VERY heavy). It is the latest Apple MacBook Air. Clients may get a stern look if any coffee cups stray! I'm armed already with the correct VGA/HDMI converters. I’m told that Macs do not “like” Plasma TVs so my trusted Sony laptop may make an appearance for some time to come, watch this space.
So here’s to a learning curve for the next few months. Now, I must fly and read about Windows 8.1 yawn …
